How-to guide

Documents

Generate and browse contracts, proposals and other documents.

Who this is for: anyone sending a proposal, contract, invoice document or other paperwork to a customer.

What you need first: your brand kit, so generated documents carry your logo — and a customer or quote to link the document to, if you want it pre-filled.

How this fits together

Two screens cover this:

  • Documents (/app/docs) is where you browse everything already produced — a folder rail by document type (proposal, contract, and so on, based on what you've actually generated) plus a searchable grid or list.
  • The document generator (/app/documents) is where you create a new one from a template.

Steps

Documents' browse view: folders by type, search, and the grid/list toggle

  1. Open Documents from the navigation to browse what's already been produced, organised into folders by type, with search and a grid/list toggle. The document generator's plan line, shown to an account whose plan doesn't include it

The generator is included on every business plan, from Solo up (it isn't part of Personal) — see the monthly plan and Wolf Credits for what each tier includes.

  1. Start a new document from the generator — choose a template suited to your industry (for example a proposal, pitch deck, invoice-style document, booking confirmation, variation or follow-up).
  2. Link it to a customer, lead, quote or project where the template offers it, so their details pre-fill instead of being typed twice.
  3. Fill in your scope as short bullet points on a narrative template (like a proposal) and let it expand into full prose — it drafts from what you gave it, not invented content.
  4. Your draft saves automatically as you work, per template, so you can leave and come back without losing it.
  5. Download as a PDF, or send it for signature — this creates a signing link the recipient can open with no account of their own.
  6. Export to Drive if you want a copy alongside your own files, from the same document.

Tips

  • Link a document to the customer it's for whenever you can — it's what makes it show up on their Customer 360 profile automatically.
  • Use a narrative template (like a proposal) when you want AI-expanded prose; use the plainer templates (invoice, booking, variation, follow-up) when you just need a fixed layout filled in.
  • A document waiting on a signature keeps its status (Sent, Signed) visible from the Documents browse screen, so you don't have to chase it manually.
